Με αφορμή τις Ευρωπαϊκές Ημέρες Συντήρησης οι συντηρητές κινητών αρχαιοτήτων του Κυπριακού Μουσείου σας προσκαλούν να τους δείτε εν δράση, στην Αίθουσα Περιοδικών Εκθέσεων του Κυπριακού Μουσείου. Την Τετάρτη 15 και Πέμπτη 16 Οκτωβρίου 2025, μεταξύ 8:30-16:30 θα βρίσκονται στο χώρο και θα συντηρούν αντικείμενα από τις συλλογές του Τμήματος Αρχαιοτήτων. Επισκευθείτε τους για να μάθετε περισσότερα για τους στόχους, τις διαδικασίες, τα υλικά και τις αρχές που διέπουν τη συντήρηση αρχαιοτήτων.
Οι Ευρωπαϊκές Ημέρες Συντήρησης θα εορταστούν φέτος, μεταξύ 13-19 Οκτωβρίου 2025. Αποτελούν θεσμό της Ευρωπαϊκής Συνομοσπονδίας Συλλόγων Συντηρητών (ECCO) ο οποίος ξεκίνησε το 2018. Στόχος του, μεταξύ άλλων, είναι η προβολή προς το ευρύ κοινό, της συνεισφοράς της επιστήμης της συντήρησης στη διατήρηση της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς και των αρχών και διεθνών συμβάσεων που διέπουν το επάγγελμα. Παράλληλα στοχεύει στην ενημέρωση για το επάγγελμα του Συντηρητή, ένα σύνθετο επάγγελμα που συνδυάζει εφαρμοσμένες και ανθρωπιστικές επιστήμες, χειρωνακτική επιδεξιότητα και πολλά άλλα.
On the occasion of the European Days of Conservation-Restoration, the archaeological conservators at the Cyprus Museum invite you to see them in action at the Temporary Exhibitions Hall of the Cyprus Museum, On Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th October, between 8:30-16:30, they will be conserving objects form the collections of the Department of Antiquities. Pay them a visit to learn about the aims, procedures, materials and ethics of movable antiquities conservation.
This year the European Days of Conservation-Restoration will be celebrated between the 13th-19th October 2025. An initiative of the European Confederation of Conservator-Restorers Organisations, they were established in 2018. Their aim is, amongst others, to raise awareness on the important role the science of conservation plays in the preservation of cultural heritage and to inform the public of the code of ethics and international charters that govern its implementation. At the same time, they aim to inform about the profession of the Conservator-Restorer, a multi-disciplinary one that combines applied sciences, humanities, manual dexterity and much more.
