Ο Πολιτιστικός Οργανισμός Avantgarde παρουσιάζει στην Κύπρο τους κορυφαίους πιανίστες του 21ου αιώνα. Συμμετέχοντας στο Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network, ο Οργανισμός συνεργάζεται με τους σπουδαιότερους διαγωνισμούς πιάνου στον κόσμο ώστε να παρουσιάζει άμεσα στην Κύπρο τους νικητές των σημαντικών αυτών θεσμών. Δίνεται έτσι η ευκαιρία στο Κυπριακό κοινό να θαυμάσει μοναδικές ερμηνείες από νέους, ανερχόμενους, ταλαντούχους πιανίστες που πρόκειται να αφήσουν τη μουσική τους σφραγίδα στον 21ο αιώνα, ταυτόχρονα με όλες τις σημαντικές αίθουσες και πρωτεύουσες στον κόσμο.
O Nikola Meeuwsen είναι o Α’ νικητής του φημισμένου Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition (2025) του Βελγίου.

Ο Nikola Meeuwsen, στα 23 του έγραψε ιστορία, καθώς έγινε ο πρώτος Ολλανδός πιανίστας που κέρδισε το Α’ Βραβείο στον φημισμένο Διαγωνισμό Queen Elisabeth στις Βρυξέλλες. Αυτή η διάκριση έδωσε ισχυρή ώθηση στην ήδη αξιοθαύμαστη καριέρα του και ανάμεσα στις σημαντικές εμφανίσεις που έπονται, περιλαμβάνεται ένα ρεσιτάλ στο Concertgebouw του Άμστερνταμ στο πλαίσιο της σειράς «Great Pianists», συνεργασίες με τη Φιλαρμονική Ορχήστρα του Ρότερνταμ, καθώς και μεγάλες περιοδείες σε Κίνα, Κορέα, Ιαπωνία και Βραζιλία.
Ο Nikola αντλεί βαθιά έμπνευση από το εκφραστικό στυλ πιανιστών της ρομαντικής εποχής, όπως οι Horowitz, Cortot και Rachmaninoff. Οι κριτικοί επαινούν τον Meeuwsen για την πλούσια χρωματική του παλέτα, το ισχυρό καλλιτεχνικό του όραμα και το προσωπικό του ύφος, που συνδυάζει δύναμη και λυρισμό.
Ήδη περιζήτητος στην Ευρώπη, ο Meeuwsen έκανε το ντεμπούτο του ως σολίστ στο Concertgebouw του Άμστερνταμ το 2024. Έκτοτε έχει εμφανιστεί με ορχήστρες όπως η Εθνική Ορχήστρα του Βελγίου, η Ορχήστρα Residentie της Χάγης, η Φιλαρμονική Ορχήστρα των Κάτω Χωρών, η Ορχήστρα Δωματίου Folkwang του Έσσεν και η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα της Πράγας. Ως μουσικός δωματίου, έχει συνεργαστεί με διακεκριμένους καλλιτέχνες και με κορυφαίους νέους μουσικούς, ενώ συχνά εμφανίζεται με τον δάσκαλο και μέντορά του, Enrico Pace. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, έχει λάβει μέρος σε φεστιβάλ μεγάλου κύρους όπως το Storioni Festival, το Φεστιβάλ Μουσικής Δωματίου Schiermonnikoog, το Classical NOW! και το St. Magnus Festival.
Ο Nikola έδειξε εξαιρετικό ταλέντο από πολύ μικρή ηλικία – κέρδισε τον Διαγωνισμό Steinway μόλις εννέα ετών. Από το 2010 σπουδάζει με τη Marlies van Gent και από το 2014 με τον Enrico Pace στη φημισμένη Accademia Pianistica στην Ίμολα. Το 2019 τιμήθηκε με το Βραβείο Νέου Ταλέντου του Concertgebouw και από το 2022 είναι “artist in residence” στην Ακαδημία Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, όπου και σπουδάζει με τους Frank Braley και Avedis Kouyoumdjian. Έχει ηχογραφήσει για σημαντικούς ραδιοφωνικούς οργανισμούς, όπως ο Bayerischer Rundfunk και το NPO Klassiek. Το πρώτο του άλμπουμ, με έργα των Mendelssohn, Liszt, Schumann και Bach/Busoni, θα κυκλοφορήσει στα τέλη του 2025 από την Channel Classics Records.

Avantgarde Cultural Foundation presents in Cyprus the great pianists of the 21st century. As a member of the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network, the Foundation collaborates with the most renowned piano competitions in the world in order to present to Cyprus the winners of these important institutions. This gives our audience the opportunity to attend unique performances by young, up-and-coming, talented pianists who are going to leave their musical mark in the 21st century, together with all the major music halls and capitals of the world.
Nikola Meeuwsen is the First Prize winner of this year’s Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition (2025).

Nikola Meeuwsen (born 2002) made history by becoming the first Dutch pianist to win the First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Brussels. This triumph has given a boost to his, already admirable, career and upcoming highlights include a solo recital in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam’s Great Pianists series, engagements with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and major tours across China, Korea, Japan, and Brazil.
Nikola draws deep inspiration from the expressive style of Romantic-era pianists like Horowitz, Cortot and Rachmaninoff. Critics praise him for his rich palette of colors, compelling artistic vision, and personal style, which balances power with poetry.
Already in demand across Europe, Meeuwsen made his solo debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 2024. He has since performed with orchestras such as the Belgian National Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest The Hague, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen, and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with renowned artists, as well as leading young musicians and he regularly performs with his teacher and mentor, Enrico Pace. In recent seasons, he has appeared at prestigious festivals such as the Storioni Festival, the Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog, Classical NOW!, and the St. Magnus Festival.
Nikola displayed exceptional talent from a very early age – winning the Steinway Competition at just nine. He has studied with Marlies van Gent since 2010 and with Enrico Pace at the renowned Accademia Pianistica in Imola since 2014. In 2019, he received the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award and since 2022, he has been an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, where he studies with Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. He has recorded for prominent radio broadcasters such as Bayerischer Rundfunk and NPO Klassiek. His debut album with works by Mendelssohn, Liszt, Schumann and Bach/Busoni is to be released late 2025 on the Channel Classics Records label.
