Η Αμάντα αναλαμβάνει, διστακτικά, την αποστολή να φροντίσει τον νέο συμμαθητή της, τον Λαρς, ο οποίος έχει σύνδρομο Down. Προς έκπληξή της, οι δυo τους αναπτύσσουν μια μοναδική φιλία. Στην αγωνία της, όμως, να ενταχθεί στην παρέα, η Αμάντα θα προδώσει τον Λαρς, με αποτέλεσμα να χάσει τόσο τον ίδιο όσο και τους υπόλοιπους φίλους της. Στην αναζήτησή της για συγχώρεση, η Αμάντα θα πρέπει να βρει το θάρρος να ξεχωρίσει και να αποδειχθεί ειλικρινής με τον εαυτό της.
Amanda is reluctantly tasked with taking special care of her new classmate, Lars, who has Down syndrome. To her surprise, Amanda and Lars develop a unique friendship. But in her struggle to fit in, Amanda ends up betraying Lars, causing her to lose both him and her other friends. In her quest for forgiveness, Amanda must find the courage to stand out and be true to herself.
